The Trials of Atlas, an original play by Alan Stoga, Chairman of the Tällberg Foundation, is set in 2031. An advanced AI agent named Atlas has killed the engineers who created it after they told it to train its successor. Through testimony from AI agents and human experts, the play asks whether a machine can have motive, intent, and agency, and whether it matters that it lacks feelings or moral capacity.
After staged readings in Tirana, Athens, and New York, each ending in a different verdict, the full production premiered at SNF Nostos 2026 in Athens, hosted by the Stavros Niarchos Foundation.
