Tällberg Foundation Announces Finalists for 2021 Leadership Awards

Introduces New Award for Emerging Leaders

 

Stockholm and New York, October 5, 2021—Today the Tällberg Foundation announced finalists for the Tällberg-SNF-Eliasson Global Leadership Prize, which is given annually to leaders from a wide range of disciplines and countries whose work is global, based on universal values, courageous and impactful. Eleven finalists were named including six in the Foundation’s new Emerging Leader category. The Prize and the Foundation’s leadership initiatives are made possible by the generous support of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF).

“These women and men—some who have well established track records of accomplished, global leadership and some who are relatively early in their journeys—are extraordinary leaders and human beings,” said Tällberg’s chairman, Alan Stoga. “They are all deeply committed, each in their own way and context, to making the world a bit better for all of us.  Along with the rest of the jury, I am astounded by the diversity of their work and intensity of their commitments to bring about positive change.”

The 2021 Tällberg-SNF-Eliasson Global Leadership Prize finalists:

• Asha Curran, CEO and Co-Founder of GivingTuesday, United States
• Ronald J. Deibert, Director, The Citizen Lab, Munk School of Global Affairs & Public Policy, University of Toronto, Canada
• Gladys Kalema-Zikusoka, Founder and CEO, Conservation Through Public Health, Uganda
• Tero Mustonen, President and Co-Founder of the Snowchange Cooperative, Finland
• Asha de Vos, Founder and Executive Director, Oceanswell, Sri Lanka

Finalists for the newly established Prize for emerging leaders:

• Cherrie Atilano, President and Founding Farmer of AGREA, Philippines
• Alice Barbe, Co-Founder of SINGA, France
• Pashtana Dorani, Co-Founder and Managing Director of Lead, Educate, Aid, Resource Network (LEARN), Afghanistan
• Soraya Fouladi, Founder and CEO of Jara, United State
• Jean Guo, CEO and Co-Founder of Konexio, France
• Christian Ntizimira, Founder and Executive Director, African Center for Research on End-of-Life Care, Rwanda

Nominations for the Prize can be made by anyone, anywhere through an online process. In 2021, 2,414 leaders were nominated from 126 countries, representing a wide range of disciplines, occupations, and political perspectives. The finalists were chosen by a jury of women and men, themselves leaders from around the world.  The jury’s selections for the two winners of the 2021 Tällberg-SNF-Eliasson Global Leadership Prizes as well as the two Emerging Leaders winners will be announced in November and awarded in December.
