Jubilian Ngaruwa is a Nigerian documentary filmmaker whose work explores the intersection of local African knowledge systems and contemporary African societies. She is the founder of Cheta Ozi Unscripted, derived from the Igbo word for “memory” and “knowledge documentation,” and an Explorer with National Geographic Society
She has collaborated with organizations such as BBC, Tales Smith Media, Iwalewahaus, and Linden Museum, where she is currently documenting the history of the Osogbo Sacred Forest through oral histories.
Committed to ethical storytelling, Jubilian launched the Train to Film project to build local film crews and center community voices in the filmmaking process. She is also passionate about democratizing access to film through curated spaces and improvised community cinemas.
