Tom is a thought leader, entrepreneur, executive and academic practitioner in areas concerned with 1) Business evolution and regeneration through mutual learning and 2) Partnerships in the finance, energy, and agri-food sectors to develop leaders, organization approaches, learning technologies and stakeholder engagement strategies. He is co-author two books, Leadership Landscapes (2008); and Nine Visions of Capitalism (2015), and is a contributing author to Leading Organisational Learning (2004), Reference Handbook on Political and Civic Leadership (2010) and Leaders for Tomorrow (2009). Tom’s academic path includes University of London and IMD. He has served as visiting research and teaching faculty at more than 20 universities, most recently Cambridge University and GIBS University of Pretoria. Tom is a project and program curator, adviser, and expert guide for leaders and teams facing emerging challenges in complex, rapidly evolving governance and business landscapes.
Tom has served as an Executive Vice President and Director for Unilever NV and ABN AMRO bank and has worked closely with a number of family founded companies including BMW AG, Bekaert SA, Puratos and SHV and International companies including Danone, Unilever NV, Compass Group, Rabobank, BUPA, Genzyme/Sanofi, Shell International and Philips NV.
Tom is a board member of the Tallberg Foundation and B-Lab Europe. He is a European Director of Competent Boards and NOW Partners and is in the founder’s circle of the Global Alliance for Banking on Values where he leads the CEO roundtable. He is a full member of the Club of Rome.
