Mario Jimenez is a Senior Country Manager at Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, a Swiss-based public–private partnership at the forefront of increasing access to immunization in low-income countries. Currently, he leads the portfolio of investments in immunization and health systems strengthening in Mozambique, aiming to protect children from the suffering and disability associated with diseases such as measles, cholera, and polio.
Previously, Mario led COVAX engagement for Covid-19 vaccine access in Pakistan until successful roll out of the vaccine for adults and infants along with the introduction of the Typhoid Vaccine in response to surging outbreaks of drug resistant typhoid.
Mario was a Weatherhead Scholar for international affairs at Harvard University, holds an MSc in Health Economics from the London School of Economics and is a member of the Immunization Policy Task Force at the World Federation of Public Health Associations.
