Mads Schack Lindegaard

Mads Schack Lindegaard, Denmark/Zimbabwe, is the Country Director of DanChurchAid (DCA) in Zimbabwe with over 20 years of experience in development and emergency programming across more than 10 countries, including five in Africa. He has led national and regional initiatives focused on climate resilience, biodiversity protection, and community-driven development.

Previously, Mads served as DCA Regional Director for East Africa (Ethiopia, Kenya, Somalia) and for the Middle East and North Africa, overseeing multi-sector programs in food security, WASH, disaster risk reduction, and emergency response. He also directed DCA programs in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Albania, and Kosovo, covering areas such as landmine clearance, reconstruction, health, and civil society capacity building.

He began his career with DCA in 2001 in Kosovo as Finance/Logistics/Admin Manager. From 2007 to 2008, he led a research sailing expedition across the Caribbean, producing documentaries, a book, and exhibitions on slavery and migration.
