Hadijah Nankanja

Hadijah Nankanja is the Founder and Team Lead at Community Women’s Enterprise Network Uganda Limited (CWEN), a nonprofit dedicated to empowering youth and women entrepreneurs with a strong focus on the Agri-business sector. Through CWEN, she provides business development services, technical support, co-shared production spaces, packaging, sales and marketing, distribution channels, mentoring, and networking platforms. Her vision is to see more youth and women-led businesses thrive with products and services on the market, driving community resilience and local economic growth.

Passionate about building local brands that reflect cultural identity and values, Hadijah has become a renowned ecosystem enabler in Uganda. She brings over a decade of experience working on initiatives that advance women’s entrepreneurship and economic empowerment. She is a Leading Women in Africa Food Fellow Alumnae, A trustee at the South African Urban Food and Farming Trust, Food culture Alliance Trail Blazer, and Business Mentor at Oribi in Cape Town, South Africa, through the Food systems program that supports impact entrepreneurs, from farm to plate, creating implementing innovations to build an inclusive food economy. A VV Visionaries program USA Alumnae, a partnership between Vital Voices Global Partnership and the Estée Lauder Emerging Leaders Fund, the charitable fund of Estée Lauder, to support the next generation of emerging leaders who are redefining leadership in their everyday lives.

Beyond her professional work, Hadijah is a dedicated Rotarian, currently serving as Youth Services Director at the Rotary Club of Kampala Naalya (District 9213), where she fosters leadership and service among young people.
