Each year, the Tällberg Foundation awards a scholarship to a young musician from the region of Dalarna.
The winner is selected by the board of Dalarnas Spelmansförbund (Dalarna’s Fiddlers Organisation). The purpose is to help promising young folk musicians finance a journey to the USA where he or she has the opportunity to interact with Swedish-American folk musicians.
The winner is selected by the board of Dalarnas Spelmansförbund which is chaired by Pontus Selderman. This year the recipient is Emma Lagerberg:

Emma Lagerberg is a fiddler and a singer, born in Malung in Dalarna County. She is currently studying vocals and violin at the Academy of Music and Drama at the University of Gothenburg with focus on world music. Previously, she has studied at the Conservatory of Music in Falun. This is the 25th consecutive year that the Tällberg Foundation Scholarship is awarded to a young musician from Dalarna.
